(29/06/2007) - BODY MADE OF BALLISTIC MATERIALS

From this year, the Spanish army has been receiving a new armored version of the VAMTAC. The protection system of these new units differs from the former version, being provided with a body completely made of ballistic materials, so to get a more effective and trustworthy protection.

Among the special elements fitted in the new versions, we can mention the new design roof-suspended seats (to minimize the effects inside the body caused by mine explosions), extended payload (due to a special reinforced suspension) or heavy duty air conditioning. These improvements not only redound to a major level of protection, but also to a better ergonomic and comfort conditions for the crew members.

(28/06/2007) - UROVESA SUPPLIES VEHICLES FOR THE EMERGENCY MILITARY UNIT OF THE SPANISH MINISTRY OF DEFENCE

UROVESA’s order books for 2006 and 2007 have been improved, due to the supply of different kind of vehicles to the Emergency Military Unit (UME), recently created in the Spanish Armed Forces. This rapid intervention Unit will work in any place of the national territory in cases of catastrophe, fires or other public needs. The Off-Road vehicles manufactured by UROVESA are specially suitable to be used in extreme circumstances and on all risk areas. Therefore, they will be an important tool considering the missions that the UME must realize.

Among the vehicles delivered by UROVESA, we can mention the Off-Road TT URO Trucks and the High Mobility Vehicles (VAMTAC) in several configurations, as fire-fighting units, off-road ambulances and trucks for personnel transportation. Some of these configurations have been specifically designed and adapted according to the operational special requirements of the UME.
